Your Voice
Even when you take adult chat calls at 3 am in the morning, you need to sound awake and alert. If you sound like you've just awoken from a slumber, or you sound dead tired, then your caller will not be impressed. He is calling to speak to you, wide awake and believe me, he does not care what time it is, This is what he expects and you had better deliver!

Attitude
This is so important. Obviously, sometimes we do not want to take calls but we have to because the rent is due next week. My opening line at the moment is, "Hello I'm Sarah, thank you for calling me. Would you like to know a bit about me?" The Sex Chat
Ok, if we let the caller direct the call, you would be talking about his cock within 10 seconds. This must not happen if you want long calls. If you rush into the sex chat and ask him how he is feeling, he will always say that he is feeling horny. You need to have a planned story, a diversion, lots of things to talk about and then you can move onto the adult chat. Without this process in place, your calls are going to last 3-4 minutes maximum.

Experiment
If you take 30+ calls a day, you will HAVE TO change what you are saying otherwise it will become predictably boring to both you and the caller. Secrets of the Phone Sex Industry?

We recruit new operators every single day and we have to do this for two reasons, firstly because the traffic levels are always increasing and secondly because operators come and go due to personal reasons. I am here to answers and dispel some "Secrets of the Phone Sex Industry." Lord knows I've been in it long enough to actually help new operators quell their fears and answer their questions. Secret 1:
Companies do not make millions every year as everyone thinks:
Back in the good old days where £1.50 per minute was charged for using a service, this may have been half true! However this has totally been over turned by the cheaper rates of 35p per minute in the present day. If you can imagine out of that 35p per minute, operator wages, technical equipment, overheads and network fee's have to be taken into account for. What you are left with is a very low amount per minute to work with. So I can conclude that yes the demand for services are there however the profit margin has decreased somewhat.

Secret 2:
You only make money with Phone Sex if you work hard:
This is definitely true! If you log on for a mere 5 hours a week then you will not fulfill the amount of minutes required in order to make a "decent revenue amount." The calls are there to answer, it really is down to you to log on and make sure that you take the calls.  Hardworking equates to high earning.

Premium Rate Companies are highly regulated:
Any company that operates Premium Rate Services has to be regulated by the regulator Phone Pay Plus. This regulator ensures that certain standards are met whilst operating and advertising premium rate services. Alongside Phone Pay Plus the ASA takes a proactive interest within this industry and pays close attention to our advertising, ensuring that we are not misleading any callers. With these regulations in place it tends to weed out the "bad guys" or shortens their reign within the industry.

Secret 4:
We do not target Vulnerable customers:
There is a misconception surrounding this industry and that is that we prey on vulnerable customers. Firstly that is technically impossible. We only have billing mechanisms that work when the customer makes the decision to use the service. Before any caller uses the service they are informed of all the costs associated with using the service. We advertise on all media streams and our advertising is not targeted at any group that is considered vulnerable.

Secret 5:
Phone Sex services are exceptionally expensive - NOT!!
Our highest price tariff for Premium Rate Phone Sex is 35p per minute which equates to £21 per hour and that is only if the caller chooses to stay on the phone for an hour. All callers have the freedom to choose how long they would like the call to last. We believe that 35p per minute is a very fair and affordable price.

Secret 6:
Phone Sex is not a Seedy way to make money.
We have all different types of ladies working on our service and they come from all walks of life. Whilst training new ladies I always ask, "What name are you going to use on-line?" The ladies who have taken the time to think about this inevitability show how much thought they have put into becoming a successful Chat Line Operator. At all times we want to accommodate the callers "fantasy woman" however you need to have your looks thought of so that if the caller does ask, there is not an embarrassing pause as you try to remember if your blonde or brunette. Some ladies keep their looks as close to themselves as possible so that they can remember them.

CAREER
Having a career in place adds volumes to your call minutes. In fact I've spent an hour before explaining about the various vintage cars that I sold through the very upmarket car sales garage that I "used" to work for. Of course adding insult to injury, I couldn't even remember the car makes and could only muster up memories of the dirty sex I had in the back of one old vintage beauty with a very promising and rich customer.

HOBBIES

Log On!!!
There is no point in logging on for 5 hours a week and expect to earn tons of money. Firstly your regular callers cannot get back to you and secondly you won't receive many calls because you are only logged on for 5 hours! Set yourself personal shifts, for example if the kids go to bed at 8pm make your personal shift 8.30pm-11pm Monday - Friday. Or if your kids go to school / nursery make sure your log on hours are when they are at school. Don't skimp on your hours, don't put it off and make it work to your advantage. Treat this as a real job with you performing real shifts that are flexible around your life.

Your Attitude!
If you answer every call with a boring "hello" and you sound half asleep then your calls are going to be dreadful. You need to answer each call like a fresh daisy. You have to be happy, in tune with what the caller is speaking about and of course acting sexy as well. If he wants boring he will call his Gran. You are different, you are an experience - keep it that way, even after your 50th call.

Your Character!
If you are Jane the stay at home single Mum that is fine. However if you are Jane the stay at home single Mum that adores war documentaries, loves to party on a Saturday and has a fetish about roast dinners then yes Jane does sound more interesting and this is the kind of character that you want to use. You've got to remember that the caller really does not want to speak about himself (if he does this is unusual), he doesn't want to tell you that he is 50 and is divorced, instead he wants to listen all about you - this is what he is paying for! So ensure that your character is interesting, it is a MUST!

No Sex yet!
A lot of ladies rush into the sex chat because that is what they think callers like. YES THEY DO! However this will not make you a lot of money. If you start talking about big dicks before the first minute your call will last approximately 2 minutes. You need to lead the call, be bubbly and talk about yourself before mentioning sex. Sometimes of course this method will not work but on the majority of calls it will work and your call times will last much longer. So leave the sex until at least the third minute of the call!

Your regular callers
Some operators earn loads of money just from repeat callers and it really bumps up their weekly revenue amount. You need to give your PIN number out to every single caller. I normally say, "You sound absolutely lovely, this is my PIN number and I am back on tomorrow at 7 pm." You need to promote yourself as much as you can as this will definitely increase your revenue.

Of course practice always makes perfect and my calls are totally different from when I first started. If you do feel that you are not making enough money from being a Phone Sex operator then you really need to sit yourself down and find a method that increases your calls because the calls are there and the callers want to speak to you!
